What is around my weekend farm?

Other than the climate, I chose my plot because it is located in the middle of nowhere! …yet it is still very accessible.

My plot is only 1,000 square meters. It is just a speck inside a large parcel of cultivated land.

A diagram of my weekend farm and what’s around it.

The plot is surrounded by cultivated land owned by local farmers who have been growing coffee trees for decades. The local farmers visit their land to tend and harvest. These farmers actually live in houses away from their farm land; most of them probably live at the residential area close-by or possibly at a nearby barangay.

I chose this place because I wanted to live close to nature during weekends. I can’t wait to take a nap inside my bamboo hut during an afternoon rain and spend a morning drinking coffee with friends under thousands of  fragrant sanggumay.

On May, my friend Gab and I hacked the banana plants to clear the plot. The photo shows a vantage from the middle of the lot (just below the slope) facing the access road.

This photo was taken on August, a few months after the clearing. This was taken from a vantage on top of the hill/slope facing the access road.
